With almost 30 years of experience, Care UK is a leading independent provider of health and social care, including residential, community, mental health, primary and secondary care. We're passionate about helping our service users to lead fulfilling lives.
At the same time, we're set apart by our commercial vision and ambition, which has seen us grow dramatically over the last decade. Our plans for expansion are now more ambitious than ever. The fact that we're taking on more than 10,000 new people over the next few years reflects the scale of growth we're planning for.
Today, an amazing one in five people in the UK has access locally to one or more of our facilities. We serve all of the Strategic Health Authorities, as well as one in three Primary Care Trusts and we provide social care on behalf of more than fifty per cent of the commissioning local authorities. That's clearly quite a challenge - but it's one we're more than capable of meeting.
We are already one of the UK health sector's largest providers of independent treatment centres and our statistics speak for themselves. We support over 5000 older people in over 80 nursing and care homes. Every week, we provide more than 118,000 hours of support to people in their own homes. We run eight NHS treatment centres, which provide surgery and diagnostic tests for more than 37,000 people a year. And we also do much, much more.
