Programme Director

Salary Range - £120,000 to £143,000 plus 23% employer pension contribution

We are looking for an exceptional individual to drive forward the planning, design and delivery of the Hinchingbrooke Hospital Redevelopment Programme (HHRP) as a Wave 1 scheme within the Government’s New Hospital Programme. You will be joining the programme at an exciting time as we progress towards completion of our Outline Business Case in Spring 2027 and continue building a successful relationship with our construction partner, Kier. The redevelopment programme is not just about the reprovision of our buildings but an opportunity to re-imagine and transform the care that we provide for our population, for generations to come.

As Programme Director you will lead and direct the activities of the HHRP team and our advisers to ensure we realise our vision through a detailed programme of activities. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end planning and delivery of the redevelopment, maintaining the highest standards of governance, and managing a robust programme of activities that ensure we deliver the new hospital on programme and within budget.

You will enjoy and excel at working with multiple key stakeholders both internal and external including ICB's, NHP, DHSC, NHSE, statutory partners, staff, patients and local communities to ensure our vision is clearly communicated, their voices are heard, we build consensus around our shared purpose and gain their support for our plans.

Who We’re Looking For:

We are seeking an experienced Programme Director with a track record of managing large-scale capital programmes, ideally within a healthcare environment. You will have outstanding interpersonal skills, be politically astute and have extensive experience of capital investment, commercial management, programme governance, and working collaboratively with partner organisations. Resilience and excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills are pre-requisites.
