Environmental Officer

Hays Health & Safety are seeking an experienced and passionate Environmental Advisor to join a dynamic team at a leading chemical manufacturing company based in Cheshire. This exciting role offers autonomy and the opportunity to make a significant impact on the organisation's environmental compliance, energy efficiency, and sustainability efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure efficient and cost-effective waste management.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and manage external and internal audits.
• Provide training on waste and energy management.
• Develop and implement new waste disposal routes.
• Lead ISO 14001 & ISO 50001 Management Systems.
• Support the development of behavioural management systems on site.
• Manage environmental permits and packaging compliance.
• Monitor and report emissions.
• Serve as a member of the SHE team, supporting the site SHE officer and assisting in Health & Safety activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong knowledge and experience in environmental regulations, including waste and energy management, permitting, and reporting.
• Experience in a highly hazardous manufacturing environment (e.g., COMAH).
• Proficiency with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards.
• NEBOSH or IOSH certification/membership.
• High energy and passion for environmental sustainability.
