Your new company
Our company is a leading specialist subcontractor who works across multiple construction sectors such as building, civil and nuclear projects. They are experts at what they do and are one of the market leaders in this specialist trade offering across the United Kingdom. As their business grows and develops, they are now seeking to appoint an aspiring quantity surveyor to their commercial team based in modern offices in the Central Belt.


Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for working on a range of small and medium-sized contracts within our clients' core specialist area. You will take projects all the way from initial quotation and specification to final accounts and handover. Working with the operational team, you will compile winning quotations and bids for multiple projects and ensure they are completed correctly to ensure payment. This will involve significant communication and coordination with your operational team and client both over the phone and through regular site visits. This will be a very busy role which will require strong organisation and administration skills along with excellent communication skills.


What you'll need to succeed
Our client is seeking to appoint an aspiring Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their commercial expertise within a busy construction environment. The ideal candidate will have some commercial expertise and or commercial qualifications such as a degree or diploma in quantity surveying and will have a hard-working and committed attitude to work. Perhaps you have worked onsite in a more practical role and have thought you would like to work in a more office-based role where you can deploy your technical knowledge in a more commercial way. Exceptional communication skills are essential in this role as there will be significant time spent on the phone and on-site working with your clients and operational teams. You will be offered the opportunity to work with an expert commercial director who will mentor and develop your commercial skillset.
