Interim Building Surveyor

Your new company

Based in West London, this public-sector organisation is currently looking to recruit a Building Surveyor to join their Major Works Capital delivery team.The team manages projects starting from £500k to multi-million-pound refurbishments to their non-residential assets, such as schools, Civic Buildings and Heritage sites. Offices are based close to local bus and train stations, making this a very commutable location.

Your new role

As the Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for carrying out detailed surveys on buildings which have projects ongoing and those which are part of the "planned works" stages.You will contribute to the creation and maintenance of a detailed database listing each property and provide advice and insights relating to the quality of properties that have been inspected.
Carry out structural surveys and prepare schedules of condition and dilapidation assessments for defined properties and buildings.

* Investigate building defects, focusing on structural issues and making recommendations to assess and resolve them as appropriate.
* Undertake feasibility studies and provide estimates, drawings and specifications for work which are required.
* Prepare reports and give professional / technical building surveying advice and training for non-technical staff on building related subjects.

What you'll need to succeed

As the successful candidate, you will need to be an experienced and qualified Building Surveyor who can demonstrate knowledge in all the above areas.Whether you have experience in residential or commercial properties, your application will be considered.
Being a Chartered Surveyor would be desirable but not essential.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are also essential for this job.
