Principal/Associate Ecologist

What's on offer?

• Role as a Principal or Associate Ecologist at a European powerhouse of multidisciplinary engineering who have recently created a stand-alone Environmental division, based in Manchester or York office
• Influence - as the first in-house Ecologist, you will put your own stamp on projects and be involved with shaping the team, and what they do
• Varied pipeline - working with varied species of flora and forna across nationally significant sectors such as energy, power, nuclear, aviation, life science and pharmaceutical
• The full works - seeing projects through to delivery, working alongside clients to advise on legal responsibilities, developing business internally with other disciplines and externally, bids and tendering, site visits, developing junior ecologists and growing the team structure

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience in bio-diversity net gain
• Experience of managing complex projects, including commercial, resourcing and scheduling activities along with managing sub-contracts and sub-contractors.
• Significant experience of delivering Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs) and Ecology Chapters for Environmental Statements.
• Proven experience in business development (work winning, bid writing) and client relationship management with the ability to generate ongoing workstreams with existing clients.
