With a 5-star Customer Experience rating Latimer is a sector leader in developing sustainable city centre brownfield regeneration and greenfield large scale garden community developments. They are focused on land led projects with a dedicated in-house capability in land acquisition, planning and pre-construction, delivering their projects in collaboration with contracting partners. They also have a strong track record on regenerating existing estates and breathing new life into communities. With a pipeline of over 20,000 homes and a major regeneration programme an opportunity has arisen to appoint an outstanding leader in the construction sector to lead the National Construction Delivery Team.
The Role
The Construction Delivery Directors role is primarily to assist the Group Director of Development in delivering a portfolio of high-quality mixed use residential projects across the development business. This is a key role in defining and delivering outstanding Quality, 5-star Customer Service and growing the business’s commitment to sector leading Health & Safety.
The role is a key national leadership role in the development business and the Delivery Director will be responsible for developing and leading a national team of Directors and a wider team of 20+ Construction Delivery Managers.
The Construction Delivery Director will have a pivotal role in being an ambassador for the business alongside ensuring the delivery of all construction operations in a safe, commercially acceptable and value enhancing way. You will be responsible for ensuring internal advice is validated, accountability is clear and upheld and operations are efficient and effective.
The Construction Delivery Director will be a member of the Development Business Senior Leadership Team and assist in setting the strategic direction and growth of the business.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a highly skilled and self-motivated individual with a proven track record of construction delivery for residential-led projects in the development sector. You will be in a contracting or client-side role overseeing a delivery programme of projects. You will play a key role in shaping the success of the Delivery team, bringing forward opportunities and delivering new homes that allow Latimer to make a step change towards the achievement of their ambitious targets.
Experience and pre-qualification criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in property, design or engineering Deep understanding of contract management and construction delivery Experience of low-rise multi phased and high-rise construction projects A subject matter expert in residential delivery with extensive operational experience, and knowledge of the construction and or property industries, building design principles, and relevant country/regional legislation Strong understanding of open market sale, affordable and build to rent housing tenures Understand the organisational strategy and quickly zeroes in on the critical few that are of paramount importance Can be relied upon to make good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom and experience and will never compromise on safety Is skilled at making the complex simple and clearly articulating the essence of the business and important topics in the language of the target audience and engages others in pursuit of clear strategic goals Is very bottom line focused and can be counted upon to achieve goals Is comfortable delegating and will clearly assign responsibility for tasks and decisions The ability to create a strong internal and external network and professional groups to ensure best practice The strong ability to identify and grow talent Experience of managing joint ventures, and working with Contract Administrators, Project Managers and Main Contractors Experience of delivering business change and continuous improvement programmes
