Mechanical Estimator

You will be working for an building contractor with a M&E division
Your new role

Work in part of an estimating team out of Tamworth office with occasional national site visits. No home working.
Capable of estimating D&B (Design & Build) tenders from Riba stage 4 to 6 using issued project plans, specifications and drawings to calculate the costs of materials, labour and other expenses
Needs to be able to design/estimate stage 3/4 information which may include estimating provisional pipework sizes for heat emitters and plant working calculations, takes offs and generating reports

Will be required to undertake site visits to review works on site and take potential information from site to produce variation costs
Provide handover to post-contract team
Able to effectively communicate with Client
Able to present Mechanical estimates carried out once in discussions with main contractors
Able to contact suppliers and plant providers (AHUs, Chillers, MVHRs, pipework suppliers, Sub contractors) throughout the tender stage to ensure correct selection of equipment and prepare unforeseen site conditions or material price fluctuations.
Once project has been awarded, request accounts to set up new project on accounting system.
Once project has been awarded, create new job folder for post-contract team and populate with necessary information for optimum commercial and operational delivery
Training junior members of the team
