Your new company
Your new company is a global engineering, architecture and consultancy with 1650 employees across the UK, and a Top 10 ranked Consultancy. With office locations in most major UK cities, your new company have a Building Structures Team for the North spread across Manchester, Chester and Leeds which you would join.
They operate across an incredible range of sectors; most commonly universities and schools, healthcare facilities such as hospitals, commercial units including mixed-use city centre towers, leisure structures like football stadiums and MoD and MoJ facilities e.g. mega-prisons. The value of most of these projects often spans between £50m-£350m although it's not uncommon for multi-billion pound projects to be designed by your new company.
Your new role
Your new role will see you joining the Building Structures Team for the North, based in either Manchester or Chester, working on a team of 40 consultants across all levels. Your role will consist of managing a team of around 8 structural engineers and technicians, contributing daily from a technical standpoint. Undertaking and overseeing design work from concept through to detailed design whilst ensuring technical excellence and maintaining outstanding levels of client service at all times is essential.
Importantly, there will be an element of business development which requires you to assist your new company with work winning. Developing new opportunities with existing and new clients and delivering these projects profitably to the satisfaction of the client will be a major element of your role.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will need a Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and be working as, or close to Associate Structural Engineer Level. You must also be a chartered engineer with either ICE or IStructE, with much of your engineering experience having taken place in the UK.
The ability to manage multiple projects of varying size/complexity, excellent project management skill and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to explain complex technical concepts are all needed to succeed.
What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a highly competitive salary in line with your previous industry experience and progression opportunities beyond the level you enter at towards Directorship. Your new company has a hybrid working policy independent to each employee's needs, with most staff making the most of 2/3 days a week from home. You will also receive 27 days holiday, private medical insurance and flexible working hours.
