Your new company
As a Contract Works Surveyor, you will join a historic and award-winning provider of affordable housing located in the Southwest of England. Your new company are the registered landlord for over 4500 homes across the region, comprising of housing and extra care facilities. As the landlord, they take responsibility for the day to day maintenance of these properties, statutory compliance, and continuous planned improvement for each property.
Your new role
You will join the planned asset management team in a hands-on and involved position working as a surveyor. Your role will involve spearheading the project management of a number of capital project works, to include refurbishments of kitchens and bathrooms, replacement roofing, external decorations, and heating replacements. You will be delivery focused in your role, taking a hands on approach to the management of building contractors, ensuring that works are being delivered to the required quality and standard, in line with the specification and design, and to budget and set timescales.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this position, you will ideally have a background in delivering planned capital project works as a project manager or surveyor, within a social housing environment. You can demonstrate this experience either from working on the client-side with a local authority or housing association, or you may have worked for a building maintenance contractor and be looking to move into the RP sector. In addition to the above, you will need to demonstrate suitable level of qualifications - this could be a degree in building surveying, or a HNC / HND in Construction.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be able to work flexibly on a hybrid basis in order to undertake your new role. In addition, you'll receive a long-term contract (6-9 months initially), which is likely to extend beyond this point, and could progress into a permanent position.
