Your new company
You will have the opportunity to work with a leading European asset management firm with a large and well-known presence in Europe, and an expanding global reach. As the investment arm of a hugely successful group listed on the Milan stock exchange, this firm is now expanding and developing their business in the UK through a new London office. This role will be supporting the very beginnings of the London entity and is an incredibly unique opportunity for broad experience and professional growth as you will play a large role in creating their UK presence.
Your new role
Your main responsibility will be to support the Finance Manager in London. As a close-knit team of two, you will be working closely with the CFO and the wider Finance team who are based in Europe to begin and maintain financial operations in the UK. Initially, you will be required to assist in the set-up of all financial processes, giving you an excellent insight into the operations of a finance team. The daily tasks of the wider role will include monthly journal entries, monthly and quarterly account preparation, paying invoices, bank reconciliations and cash monitoring, support UK consolidations, support tax coordination and preparation, and interacting with other company entities for consolidations.
What you'll need to succeed
You will either be degree educated or fully qualified AAT with ACCA/CIMA/ACA part-qualification. For this role, you need to be confident with accounting basics such as double entry bookkeeping, taking accounts up to trial balance, balance sheet reconciliations, AP/AR and month-end duties. You will be confident with Excel functions such as sumifs, vlookups and pivot tables. This experience should come from multiple years of experience in a financial team. This role will be very varied, and you should have an adaptable and enthusiastic attitude with a strong desire to give an extra hand with adhoc tasks. It is not a requirement, but if you are an Italian speaker, this would be a valued skill to liaise with the companies' home-base. Additionally, if you have a background in audit, or wider finance experience, this will be valued.
