Job Details

Hays Civil Engineering are delighted to be working with this large national contractor in recruiting for a Site Agent for a project in Barrow, Cumbria. You'll be joining this highly recognised Contractor in supporting one of their key projects in the North West

The project is a large Civil Engineering project and will be a complex and varied scheme of works. Programmed for over 5 years, it is a £100m+ project and is part of the larger scope of works in the surrounding Barrow area, which is seeing continual investment

We are looking for a strong Site Manager to join this team! Coming from a Civil Engineering background, you will ideally be a Civil Engineer who has progressed through to a Management level, or you have progressed from a hands-on, non-technical role to management. This will suit an experienced Site Manager currently, but we can also look at those who are looking for that step up from an experienced Sub-Agent level

The Site Manager will have a wide and varied experience across Civil Engineering, and possess significant experience working with Concrete, RC Structures and complex Civil Engineering practices

Typical duties will include:

  • Subcontractor Supervision and Management
  • Management of ITP's
  • Temporary Works Co-ordination
  • Producing RAMS and Permits
  • Quality Management
  • Management of all H&S

You must have excellent leadership skills and be experienced at managing teams on site. You will be managing the programme of work, so you will need to have the experience and ability to manage and control outcomes on site
You will have SMSTS, 1st AId, CSCS and a solid Civils background

A competitive salary and package is on offer for this role. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market leading contractor with a guaranteed pipeline of work
