Your new company
You will be working for a leading Corporate Approved Inspector that are based in Lancashire, and have multiple offices across the UK.
Your new role
You will work on a variety of projects in multiple sectors including education, healthcare, industrial, leisure, sports stadia, office.
You will offer a complete building control service- assisting with early days of design right through to satisfactory completion.
You will carry out plan checking and site inspections of building projects of various types and sizes, from domestic extensions to commercial developments.
You will issue plans approval, inspection reports, completion certificates and other statutory notices as required by the Building Act 1984 and the Building Regulations 2010.
You will provide technical advice and solutions to clients and stakeholders on building control matters, such as fire safety, accessibility, structural stability, energy efficiency and sustainability.
You will liaise with local authorities, fire authorities, utility companies and other relevant bodies to coordinate building control activities and resolve any issues or disputes.
You will maintain accurate records and documentation of building control work and ensure compliance with the CICAIR Code of Conduct1 and the approved inspector insurance scheme.
You will keep up to date with changes in building regulations, standards, legislation and best practice, and undertake continuous professional development (CPD) activities.
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree or equivalent qualification in building control, building surveying, civil engineering or a related discipline.
- Open to all levels of building control experience up to Director level.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in building control, either as a local authority building control surveyor or an approved inspector.
- A thorough knowledge and understanding of the building regulations and other relevant legislation, codes of practice, guidance documents and technical standards.
