As part of this vision the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea are expanding their Property Services team and are now looking for an experienced Senior Housing Maintenance Surveyor to join the team to help deliver the best possible service for their residents.
As the successful Senior Surveyor will need to have experience of making day-to-day decisions on the maintenance of the council's housing stock. Working to demanding performance standards, maintaining close control over budgets & close oversight of health and safety are the key demands of the job. As part of the job, you will need to be able to balance workloads and prioritise cases to deliver the best possible service to residents. In addition, you will manage the tender and procurement of contractor services to ensure best value for the council and residents. You will manage a couple of Maintenance Surveyors and trainees to help deliver the high standard of service as expected by the council's residents.
It is essential that you are a qualified Building Surveyor with experience of managing operational staff and contract/tender management. You will need to demonstrate your knowledge of repairs and maintenance practices within the housing sector. Working knowledge of the latest Building Regulations, Party Wall issues and other building related regulations. Experience of working in a housing maintenance team is essential. Overall good IT proficiency skills are required as you will be responsible for budgeting, planning and database management.
