Our client is an award-winning national main contractor with a large pipeline of work ahead of them into 2024 in Glasgow and the wider Central Belt. This company is an expert in the delivery of medium to large projects across both the private and public sector and are looking to grow their business into 2024. Our client consistently wins awards for training and developing their staff and their culture is focused on internal promotion and staff development.
Your new role
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be initially placed on a large education project in Glasgow. This project is very much a flagship project and is a complex new build of an education campus. Supporting the existing Senior QS and Commercial Director you will be tasked for managing several packages of work commercially. This will involve managing your subcontractors in partnership with your PM and SM ensuring that they are building in line with budget and plans and paying them accordingly. You will also get involved in procuring future trades packages as the projects approaches critical point and completion.


What you'll need to succeed
Our client is a commercially astute main contractor who win work based on their directors commercial expertise. The ideal candidate will be a main contracting Quantity Surveyor at heart who enjoys the prospect of delivering profit on your particular project. You are driven by your commercial instincts and are ambitious to develop your career towards QS and SQS over the next 5 years. Our client will facilitate this development. Ideally you will be working for another main contractor or smaller general builder and are looking to deploy your experience on a larger or more complex project. You must have a degree in quantity surveying and have a good understanding of construction.
