Building Surveyor

Your new company
Our Client's, are a public sector organisation based in West London who are currently looking to recruit a Building Surveyor on an ongoing contractual basis. An increase in workload within the team has led to the requirement of an additional surveyor, to provide support on their Stock Condition Programme. The offices are easily commutable due to a great network of local bus routes and tube stations.
Your new role
As the Building Surveyor, you will carry out validation inspections of properties that have been included in the Council's Stock Condition Survey programme (currently carried out by consultants) assess the accuracy of information such remaining life of key components e.g. kitchens and bathrooms.
Carry out joint surveys with the Consultant's Surveyors to develop a consistent approach to assessing the condition of the Council's stock.
Carry out HHSRS inspections and demonstrate an understanding of assessing the categories of risk.
Carry out stock condition surveys independently and upload results on the council's database.
Carry out ADHOC surveys of properties as required and prepare reports with diagnosis of defect cause and recommend remedial action.
Prepare specifications/scope of works for small projects up to an estimated value of £100k that may include, but not limited to, damp & mould, building repairs, window renewals and security works.
What you'll need to succeed
As the successful candidate you will need to be an experienced and qualified Building Surveyor who can demonstrate knowledge in all the above areas.
Whether you have experience in residential or commercial properties your application will be considered.
Being a Chartered Surveyor would be desirable but not essential.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are also essential for this job.
