Your new company is a multi award-winning multidisciplinary construction and property consultancy that specialise in civil and structural engineering, architecture, surveying, environmental consulting, building services and much more. Across 12 UK offices they have over 1,000 employees across the aforementioned sectors who all contribute in their delivery of bespoke, sustainable and forward-thinking solutions.


In early 2023 your new company formed a Highway Division in their Manchester office that specifically supports their developer, contractor and local authority framework clients in the design and delivery of highways infrastructure across the Northwest.


Your new role
As a Civil Engineering Technician you will be working closely with 2 Senior Engineers and a Partner and made responsible for the following:

  • Supporting your colleagues in the preparation and design of drawings for all design works on your team projects.
  • Preparing design calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and other project documentation as required
  • Building relationships with long-standing client relationships
  • Participating in the resolution of technical issues



What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you will hold a minimum of an HNC in Civil Engineering, at least 3 years' of experience on similar local authority projects and have an awareness of the following:

  • AutoCAD experience (essential) and Civil 3D (desirable) although training in 3D software is available for those looking to develop in that area
  • Highway and drainage section agreements (38,278 and 104)
  • Flood risk and sustainable drainage systems
  • EngTech qualification is not a requirement, though will help if you're looking to access higher level of salary

Importantly, for those without Civil 3D experience, there will be time and resources invested into your software development with Civil 3D training manuals and the expertise of your colleagues.
