Working for one of the UK's leading contractors operating both in the UK and Worldwide, they operate across a number of sectors including building, infrastructure, housing and maintenance.
Your new role
Site Agent required to work on the UK Power Networks Alliance. The Alliance is charged with delivering a £1bn programme in the 2023-2028 ED2 regulatory period and beyond into the next regulatory period, ED3. The client has been appointed to undertake cable and electrical infrastructure projects across the Southern and Eastern Power Networks (SPN & EPN). The role may involve on and off-site project involvement during design phase.


In this exciting Site Agent role, you'll support the implementation of health and safety policies and procedures. You'll ensure all labour, plant, materials and supply chain resources are accurately recorded and identify areas of development. You'll liaise with the Commercial Team to produce financial forecasts and final cost and value reviews. You'll ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the specification.
Duties to include:

• Works to support the aspirations and aims of their Project Manager
• Personally, enforces high standards across the board on their site(s) to maintain safe, effective delivery
• Places safety at the heart of everything they do.
• Ensures people are put to work in line with UKPN HSS 01 015 under a Person in Charge of Safety (PICoS)
• Checks that all CPP, RAMS, SSoW and Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRAs) are fully understood
• Ensures that all work meets the additional UKPN-specific H&S requirements of HSS 01 058
• Manages the compilation, checking and issue of safety documents and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
• Able to manage and work in mixed collaborative teams to deliver major projects
• Understands the Ofgem regulatory model and drivers governing UKPN
• Adding value to projects through new or improved ways of working, innovation and value management
• Holds the Principal Contractor responsibility where the client is appointed under the CDM Regulations

What you'll need to succeed

• Working knowledge of the NEC 3 Form of Contract, especially with regard to Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events
• Proven experience in a similar role within the power or another utility sector.
• Demonstrate leadership to site teams in collaborative culture, safety and quality
• Able to monitor and report against programme requirements (P6)
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge and experience of construction requirements
• Willing to challenge standards to improve quality or value
• CSCS/EUSR and SMSTS holder
• Knowledge of UKPN specifications and industry standards
• Understanding of UKPN technical requirements and working practices
• Excellent communication/leadership skills
• Management of subcontractors and direct labour within a multi trade environment
• First Aider and UK driving licence holder.
