Commercial Manager - Preconstruction

Commercial Manager required to join the Preconstruction Team of leading Builder/Developer.

Your new company
Our client are a leading multi-faceted building and development company with a strong pipeline of work across all of their sectors. With a focus on ensuring this pipeline of work is commercially sensible they are seeking to appoint an experienced commercial manager to focus exclusively within the precon phase and drive commercial rigour into their tenders and bids.


Your new role
As Precon Commercial manager you will be reporting to the Pre Construction director with a broad view on all bids and tenders which come through the business. You will assist the bid manager in ensuring commercial targets are reflected in any submitted bids and that our clients target margin is reflected in this process. You will also effectively commercially manage each project in the precon phase ensuring any costs for the project are accounted for properly.

You will also take a strategic role across our clients supply chain ensuring that they have access to a capable set of external stakeholders which will allow them deliver these projects in an effective an efficient manner.


What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate is from a quantity surveying background supported by a relevant degree. You will have deep expertise in the commercial management of residential projects and have a good understanding of the market in Scotland. Perhaps you are an experienced Senior QS with front end experience who is seeking to further develop their expertise and remove themselves from the day to day of running operational projects. This is very much a strategic position reporting to a director and will allow the successful candidate have a real impact on the success of this business in the next 5 years.
