Career Development Opportunity - Building Maintenance Surveyor Role - 12 Months + Potential Longer Term Role

Hays are working in partnership with a provider of care, and regional charity who are proud to present a career development opportunity and opportunity to progress within the Building Surveying sector longer-term. This opportunity would be suitable for a Graduate Building Surveyor, Assistant level Facilities Manager or could be a consideration if you are looking to make a career change, and have some built environment or property maintenance experience.

Your new role
You will work for a provider of residential care who own and operate homes across 26 individual locations across the Somerset region. As a Building Maintenance Surveyor, you will have an opportunity to undertake a wide range of related work across the property locations, growing your skill-set and professional competency as you go. Work will include defect diagnosis, project management of repair issues, running cyclical compliance and maintenance programmes, and project management of small building refurbishments. Further to this you will have an opportunity to deliver some professional works, including review of party wall disputes and property valuations.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will simply need a drive and enthusiasm to progress your career within building surveying and the built environment. You will need some existing knowledge, this could have been gained from undertaking a relevant degree, or you may have experience working within the property maintenance sector, in facilities management, or work directly for a building contractor.

What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a salary of £30,000 and an initial 12 month fixed term contract - a permanent role after the initial fixed term period may arise. You will receive training, support and guidance as you undertake your role, allowing you to enhance your skill-set and gain relevant experience, as you work.
