Your new role
Job Summary: I am currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Assistant Site Manager to join a fantastic New Build Housing company.
As an Assistant Site Manager, you will work closely with the Site Manager to ensure the successful execution and completion of construction projects, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to grow their career in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
Support the Site Manager in overseeing and coordinating all on-site activities for new build housing projects. Assist in managing subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to ensure the smooth progress of construction works.
Monitor project schedules, identify any potential delays, and assist in implementing necessary measures to keep projects on track.
Collaborate with the Site Manager to ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety standards, and quality control procedures.
Assist in reviewing project plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure clarity and adherence to requirements.
Conduct regular site inspections to verify work quality, compliance, and adherence to project plans and specifications.
Help maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress reports, and records of subcontractor activities.
Support the Site Manager in managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and a strong work ethic.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry, preferably with exposure to new build housing projects
Knowledge of construction methods, processes, and best practices related to new build housing.
Understanding of building regulations, health and safety standards, and quality control procedures.
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders.
Proactive mindset, with the ability to identify and resolve issues proactively.
Proficiency in using construction management software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools is advantageous.
Valid construction-related certifications or qualifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid) would be beneficial.
