An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Planning Policy Officer at a local planning authority in the central belt. The role is open to applicants seeking long term contract work, or for those looking to secure a permanent position. You will be working on a hybrid basis, splitting your time between the office and working remotely from home, so proximity to .


Your new role
This is a broad planning policy role, with your role including but not limited to:

- Supporting the production of planning policies, strategies and guidance
- Reviewing the Local Plan
- Consulting & communicating with relevant parties in the Local Plan
- Supporting the planning policy team with targets
- Working with colleagues across the planning team to provide policy advice


What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for the role, you will need an RTPI accredited (or equivalent) undergraduate or postgraduate qualification, and be eligible for full RTPI membership. Ideally you will have 2 or more years' post qualification relevant experience of Town Planning, Development Management or related work in complex urban environments, and a detailed understanding of Scottish planning system. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle would be beneficial.
