Hays are delighted to be working exclusively in partnership with Savills rural business to recruit an Architectural team leader into their Peterborough office to manage and grow the Architecture and Building Surveying services team across the East Midlands and East Anglia region.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Architect, Technician or Technologist to join a multi-disciplinary Architecture & Building Surveying Team, servicing both retained and consultancy clients, largely from within the rural business, working with and supported by other professional disciplines within the offices.


Your new role
As the new team leader, you will be joining the Savills Peterborough office and working across rural, residential and commercial sectors, carrying out a variety of works from design co-ordination and defect diagnosis to conservation and project management, with the opportunity to develop new service lines and specialisms. Examples of this fantastic work can be provided upon request.

Part of your responsibilities as the new team leader will be to service existing business and increasing business from new work streams. You will also be responsible for managing your team, to do this you will set clear objectives in line with company and team strategy, you will conduct regular 121's with your team and complete thorough probationary, interim and annual appraisals. As a manager you will support your team members in career development via training, coaching, mentoring and the promotion and succession/talent processes. In addition, you will conduct recruitment processes to help the team deliver on strategic growth plans.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed you will be an experienced Architect, Technician or Technologist. You will have a proven experience in of project management, design and contract administration, building regulations, CDM and Architectural design. You will be able to develop complex strategies and solutions and demonstrate financial and commercial acumen with excellent planning, budgeting and operational reporting skills. You'll be an excellent relationship builder, someone who commits to challenging and rewarding goals, a self-starter, who relishes challenges and strives for the best and a strong team player.

You will be prepared to lead from the front, a strong decision maker with a confident and positive outlook who gives assurance. In regard to your management skills, you will have a proven ability to develop skills and enable personal and professional growth of individuals, be able to delegate effectively for maximum results and motivate your team to deliver successful results. Ideally you will have experience of successful performance management. You will be able to either demonstrate relevant experience within the rural sector or a keen interest & affinity with developing this as the next stage of your career.
