Your new company
Hays are representing a large public sector organisation who have four sites in Northern Ireland which comprises a number of buildings ranging in ages and design including administration buildings, lecture theatres, sports halls, laboratories and libraries as well as an expansive outdoor landscape incorporating sports pitches and car parking. They are seeking a qualified Electrical Building Services Engineer to oversee electrical small works projects up to the value of £1m.

Your new role
This is a permanent job based in Belfast working for a large public sector organisation.
Reporting to the Head of Asset Management you will have line management accountability for lifecycle maintenance schedules, asset surveys and associated data, condition reporting, fault identification records and improvement/rectification plans. The role will lead audits into building engineering and infrastructure and oversee plans for the continuing improvement of the wider estate at all sites to achieve building condition targets that meet the needs of the organisation and the Estates Services strategy. The role will make use of internal resources and engage specialist resources where required to carry out feasibility studies and develop plans to maintain the appropriate standards and condition of systems and buildings.

What you'll need to succeed
To be eligible for this role you must meet the following criteria: Educated to degree level in mechanical, electrical, building services or related engineering discipline and have:

  • Significant recent experience at management level within a property/construction or estate management role.
  • Experience of technical oversight, contract and cost management of engineering plant operations, maintenance or development works with a combined value over £1M in a given year.
  • Experience in a management role relating to estates engineering services operating across a significant estate.
  • Experience of leading teams of internal and external property/construction professionals.
  • Proficient in the use of spreadsheets, property databases and project/facilities management packages and knowledge of CAD.
  • Experience of developing and monitoring / assuring technical standards
  • Experience of leading corporate strategic planning processes.
  • Experience of successful budget management.

£44,737 - £53,384. They will pay at the top of the scale for those who can demonstrate enough experience doing a similar role.
