Hays are delighted to be working exclusively with one of the best engineering teams in Norfolk who have recently won a number of incredibly exciting projects valuing circa £500 million. They are looking for a senior structural engineer to join their Norwich office, having just moved into a state of the art new office designed by themselves it is a place which inspires you to thrive in your work, with functional layout, spaces for collaboration and great spaces for breaks including a pool table!

With a strong foundation in both structural and civil engineering, the company is a top provider of construction consultancy services. Their specialties include structural and civil engineering, pre-development engineering, building information modelling, engineering, flood management, and transportation & highways. Many of the largest national home builders, retail developers, and governmental bodies have relied on them in the past to provide engineering services.

Your new role
As the new Senior Structural Engineer you will produce accurate design solutions, from initial sketches to completely coordinated layouts. A large part of your role as a senior engineer will be liaising with clients throughout the project's lifespan from working with those above you to try and win new projects to meeting regularly to update and report. You will be working on projects across Commercial, Data Centers, Energy, Education, Industrial, Logistics, Residential and Retail. This consultancy out competes some of the biggest "brands" in engineering with their expertise and top level service.

You will be working as a Senior member of a team to achieve goals in order to see projects through from the initial planning stages through to completion. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to progress your career, technical ability and sector experience.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this role you will need to be working towards chartership or have already achieved chartered status (MIStructE/MICE). You will have strong people skills and experience or a desire to support and manage junior members of the team.

It is key you have a comprehensive understanding of design according to British Standards, EuroCodes, and CDM for health and safety and ideal to have knowledge of Tekla Structural Designer and experience with large, complicated steel structures.
