Support Assistant (Mental Health) - Temporary Position, London

You will be working for a leading provider of housing, care and support services based in London.

Your new role
As a Mental Health Support Assistant your main responsibility will be to assist senior workers in providing practical and emotional support to vulnerable residents, whilst preparing regular Risk Assessments and working to existing Support Plans. You will help your clients to sustain their tenancies and involve them in the community, monitor their well being and refer onto more specialist staff where required. The role will require signposting to specialist agencies and offering assistance with budgeting and housing legislation.

Full time role, initially a temporary role, after 3 months it will turn permanent.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A RESIDENTIAL ROLE AND AS SUCH WILL ENTAIL WORKING TO A 7 DAY PER WEEK ROTA.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need previous experience working within the Support Housing sector and understand the issues affecting those suffering from or Mental Illness, ideally within a residential environment. You will also need to be confident when dealing with individuals with challenging behaviour and proficient at using Microsoft packages, with excellent team work skills, demonstrating both collaboration and respect with peers and customers.
