Estimator or Senior Estimator

Your new company
Working for a successful Sussex Main Contractor, this position is for a construction Estimator or Senior Estimator. The company are regional construction specialists working on projects predominately in the education, healthcare, residential and refurbishment sectors with historic building work also undertaken. They work much of the time with clients they have developed over many years and value a collaborative approach with professionals and sub-contractors alike. They are currently involved in several of Sussex most challenging and groundbreaking projects and are looking to welcome an experienced estimator to join their team. This role will suit you if you are looking to work on interesting local schemes and community based projects. The company are a stable, long standing member of the Sussex construction industry and work on prestigious and interesting projects predominately from £1m - £20m. They are looking for an Estimator with 8+ years experience

Your new role
To produce priced tenders that are accurate, clearly detailed, competitive, and returned within deadlines, and provide clearly identified price build-ups to the Contract team. The role will include - * Work on traditional drawing and specification, Design & Build, 2 stage and partnered contracts * Analyse and review tender documentation, following Site Inspections * Provide accurate budgets & cost plans * Arrange and lead in discussions at Bid Launch, Mid Tender and Tender Finalisation meetings * Produce detailed "take offs" and compile Bill of Quantities using Estimating Software * Create, check, and amend Labour, Plant & Materials resource rate build ups. * Procure competitive prices for materials and sub-contractor packages. Analyse quotations and compile package comparisons. * Complete financial tender documentation for inclusion in the submission document and prepare and collate tender information/documents for handover meetings.

What you'll need to succeed
* Degree or Higher National Certificate in Construction/Building, or equivalent.
* Experience in estimating projects ranging in value from £3m-£12m
* Knowledge of building, material components, building regulations, estimating (including taking-off) and H&S.
* Basic programming, planning, compiling reports. Plus good computer skills (Word and Excel).
* Knowledge of contractual procedures and responsibilities.
* Good negotiation, influencing and communication skills; well-spoken and personable; able to get on with diverse personalities
* Driving license holder with own car
