Hays are delighted to be working with one of the leading property consultancies in the UK! There is now a very exciting opportunity for a Utilities Surveyor to join their established team. This position would suit a Senior, Associate or Associate Director level surveyor, and there are exciting career progression opportunities available to the successful candidate. Your new role
As the new Utilities / Rural Surveyor you will be responsible for the management of instructions through scheme gateways to provide the timely delivery of access to, and the purchase of, land to enable clients to deliver their capital projects. You will be managing a multi mullion pound compensation and land acquisition budget as well as resolving land access and legal issues. You will also be responsible for managing a team of 15 Land Agents. Part of your role will also be adopting new forms of technology to enhance services to clients.

Day to day you will be dealing with landowners, client contractors and clients, acting as the main point of contact between client and landowners

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will ideally be a chartered surveyor with a rural background, or an experienced Wayleave Officer. You will be familiar with the Water Industries Act, land compensation values and compensation assessment principles.

You will be a good negotiator and project manager with strong communication skills, you will be able to navigate and utilise relevant IT systems and you will be able to motivate and build successful teams!
