A vibrant and high performing Tier 1 Contractor based in Derbyshire who have a range of projects from manufacturing building materials to construction of buildings predominantly across Commercial, Industrial and Education sectors.
Your new role
As a Design Manager you will be a balance between being client facing and keeping up to date with future projects along side meeting and supporting your team in their work. In order to smoothly connect the design and construction processes, you will need to oversee the design development from pre-contract / contract award to compilation of As Built information for the design team. It will entail giving designers precise instructions regarding information delivery deadlines, keeping track of developments, and actively managing to make sure designs are coordinated and authorised in advance of the building schedule.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience of working in a similar role for a contractor, subcontractor or building firm. You will have managed teams of technical staff, worked to strict deadlines, to ensure delivery to agreed program and commercial constraints. You will have excellent negotiation skills with both internal and external parties, good software skills including MS Office, ability to multi-task and be able to lead and motivate staff.
