Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a thriving niche cost consultancy with significant growth plans for 2023! Immediately wanting to hire a competent Assistant Quantity Surveyor with 2-3 years PQS (UK only) experience and also a Graduate Quantity Surveyor who has had a successful university year out experience with a couple of months employment since graduating last Sept (22).  

Employing 7 staff currently, our client have been a larger concern previously and they’re now seeking to, bolstered by resurged client & project order book, to double their staff within the next 24 months.

Based in the heart of the city, they’re already a bustling little practice, with hands-on working partners supported by a couple of seniors and juniors, including an APC student too.  (They would happily welcome another APC level surveyor – with the ability to support you through your APC journey - in house)

Immediately, you’ll be supporting Partners directly on a number of projects across the business including hotels, new build private residential and corporate fit out projects across the London area.

Your role will include a multitude of tasks from rudimentary pre & post contract administration duties (measurement, tender reviews, reporting, budget estimating etc) and other responsibilities such as attending design and site meetings, inspections for valuation and variations, assessing completions, assistance with project documentation (JCT). They are particularly strong within cost planning arena and would be keen for any assistant level surveyor to have a good capability here.   

Candidates wishing to apply must have eligibility to work in the UK (without restriction), you must have completed a BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying (RICS accredited) with either a 12 month industrial PQS placement or, at AQS level, a minimum period of 12 months post-graduation UK consultancy work experience.

Key personal criteria includes being personable, articulate and presentable. You will be given immediate opportunities re: client contact so you should be confident and robust in your ability to handle this level of responsibility. Candidates should also have good, competent IT skills (particularly Excel). CATO would be advantageous.

Salary guide is up to c£30,000 (for Grad) - £38,000 (for Assistant) – both dependent on experience + Benefits
