To deliver an important part of our asset management service we are looking for a Building Surveyor
From £27,307.92 grade 6 to £49,164.84 grade 10 per annum for 37 hours per week
(Career graded post with the starting salary dependant on qualifications and experience).
We would welcome applications from candidates interested in part-time/flexible working, as well as full-time hours.
Based in Andover and home working.
Our programme of work includes building projects to improve assets; the creation of new assets, such as leisure facilities; maintaining and reviewing corporate properties; and contributing towards council wide initiatives such as town centre regeneration, new ways of working and the corporate plan.
This role is part of a of the Building and Engineering Team taking responsibility for one or more construction projects, and work programmes across the Test Valley Borough Council, surveying buildings, identifying and diagnosing building defects and carrying out repairs and improvements to the Council corporate buildings and land, ensuring works carried out are of the highest quality, using appropriate design and materials and achieve value for money.
With a recognised property-related qualification, to a degree level or extensive relevant experience, you will have knowledge of commercial and industrial building construction. Your excellent collaboration and communication skills will enable you to liaise with people at all levels both within and outside the Council.
Essential is the ability to prepare drawings using CAD technology (AutoCAD) and demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Building control - regulations and procedures including the preparation of Building Regulation, Planning and other statutory applications.
