Your new company
We're pleased to be supporting one of our key higher education clients to recruit a Minor Works Project Manager to join their team in Suffolk. The organisation has just approved a 10 year capital works programme with a value of £450m, which involves a number of ambitious projects to decarbonise and enhance the estate.

Your new role
As the Minor Works Projects Manager, will report into the Director of Estates and will lead the institution's project management services, which are provided both in-house and outsourced. You will work closely with the Head of Sustainability and manage 1 Project Manager.

Duties will include;
- Overseeing all inhouse small works projects
- Project Management for small works and inhouse projects
- Acting as the point of contact for all larger projects from inception through to completion
- Supporting project tendering and procurement of services in the area of project management
- Overseeing and carrying out drawing service for construction, alteration, and renovation projects
- Developing and managing the CAD system
- Maintaining campus accommodation records, asset register and CAFM
- Supporting and leading on specific areas of the Estates strategy and masterplan


The Minor Works Project Manager will ensure compliance with statutory regulations including, (but not limited to): asbestos management, water hygiene, fire safety, lifts, boilers, pressure vessels and electrical installations etc. Managing project risk, project plans, controlling project budgets and reporting to the leadership team will be an important part of this role. You will partner with external service partners including Architects, QS surveyors, small works teams, Constriction teams and local Authority planning teams.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful Minor Works Project Manager you will be educated to ONC/OND or equivalent and ideally be a member of a professional body such as RICS, IWFM. A Health and Safety Qualification such as NEBOSH would also be desirable.

You'll have experience of leading a small team, have experience of procuring and planning small construction, refurbishment and alteration projects. You will have experience in the preparation of architectural drawings, concept designs and technical drawings, schedules and the like using AutoCAD or similar computer aided design packages. Experience of the statutory planning and approvals process will be important, as will a good understanding knowledge of Buildings and their engineering, health and safety and compliance matters.

The Minor Works Project Manager will receive a salary of up to £36,386 per annum, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays and a contributory pension scheme.
