Structural Engineer based in Manchester, from Senior to Associate Level
Your new company
Your new company is an SME multidisciplinary consultancy with 3 offices across the UK in Manchester (you office), Leeds and London. They provide their clients with a complete civil and structural engineer service, across the residential, commercial, healthcare, education and industrial sectors often into £100m + project value. Recent exciting project examples include Jodrell Bank First Light Pavilion, £8m and a £130m mixed use estate consisting of 5 towers ranging from 7 to 23 storeys in height.
Though often cliché, your new company truly have the flexibility of a smaller constancy whilst evidently designing huge schemes and offering incredible project exposure. Much of the office have previously worked at major international consultancies and enjoy many of the benefits your new consultancy presents.
Your new role
Your new role will see you joining the building structures team of 12 structural engineers and technicians in Manchester. Your main responsibility is producing the conceptual and detailed design for the above clients. Mentoring and guiding junior engineers and technicians is also an important task along with client relationship management key.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed you will need a degree in Civil Engineering and a minimum of around 6 years' industry experience. In terms of software's, AutoCAD and Tedds are both essential and any further software experience is a bonus. Excellent written, verbal and mathematical skills will be necessary.
What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a highly competitive salary in line with your previous experience, most likely in the £40,000 to £60,000 range. Chartership and other engineering qualifications are heavily supported and with 9 chartered engineers sat around you, daily mentoring and guidance can be expected.
Your new company also operates a flexible work policy. This means you can work from home twice a week, although much of the office are present 5 days a week due to the atmosphere and comradery.
