A well established and friendly family run business based in South Derbyshire who have 2 sides to the business, one being main contractor for commercial and residential projects and the other taking on similar projects as a subcontractor.
Your new role
As a Technical Manager you will be responsible for bringing together the many sections of the projects including, client liaison, subcontractors, site teams, commercial teams, design teams and senior management.
You will ensure the projects run smoothly and are able to spot and review technical issues prior or during projects. Other tasks could include co-ordination of design, planning & engineering, Help with appraising land / buildings, Manage STATS. Manage the design process, programme, value engineering, appointing architects, engineers, building control and any other external professionals needed. You will also act as Designer on any contracting work, review Sub-Contractors proposals for compliance, tender analysis on contracting work to spot opportunities or risks in the ER's
What you'll need to succeed
You will have worked for a contractor within their technical or build team, with a background of technical build, you will be able to spot issues and mistakes on plans and be able to rectify them before going to site. You will be an excellent communicator and have a passion for supporting various teams, running regular reports and chairing meetings to allow all teams involved in the project to understand what needs doing to keep the project on time and budget.
