Health & Safety Workplace Officer - Temporary - 6 weeks +


I am currently working with a key client who is looking for a Health & Safety professional to join their team on a temporary basis for 6 weeks, with the potential for extension.

Reporting into the Health, Safety & Sustainability Manager, the main purpose of your role is to conduct Health & Safety work placement vetting for Learners from the organisation. You will be responsible for ensuring that placement providers and other off-site locations have arrangements in place to manage their Health & Safety to the required standard. Duties will include:

• Conduct off-site location assessments in accordance with procedures
• Conduct workplace vetting
• Record vetting conclusions and create reports where relevant
• Establish and maintain records of all assessments
• Conduct internal and external audits relating to the workplaces
• Conduct and assist with accident investigations where relevant

You will be required to conduct these assessments both over the phone and in person so travel is required for this role - you will be paid mileage but must have your own vehicle.

To be considered for this role you must hold NEBOSH and fully understand the principles of Safe Systems of Work. You will also be confident in identifying workplace hazards and will have had exposure to conducting accident investigations, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to create effective working relationships. You will need to undertake an ehnanced DBS for this role.

This is a full time, 37 hour working week, temporary position that is expected to last around 6 weeks but could be extended. Hourly rate based upon a salary bracket of £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.
