Project Manager - Construction - Freelance

Your new company
Specialist Roofing and Cladding contractor who operate on projects throughout the UK working on some leading schemes, with a strong focus on the quality of the project they deliver

Your new role
Working on a new scheme in Cambridge they are looking for a Project Manager to oversee the £2.4m envelope package, as Project Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the site runs with efficiency and is completed as such.

Some Key Responsibilities include:

  • You must build a strong relationship with the principal contractor
  • Maintain a high professional standard of work at all times.
  • Lead meetings
  • If any issues occur on site, ensure you have liaised with the project team on the best way to solve them.
  • Ensure that on site health and safety is to a high standard, if any on site health and safety does not meet with requirements, toolbox talks must be carried out and operatives made aware of any mistakes.
  • Method Statements and Risk Assessments will be produced and must include all on site hazards.
  • Any onsite hazards arising from the RAMS must be communicated to site operatives.
  • You must ensure all relevant site documentation is kept in appropriate areas.
  • Ensuring build quality is always of the highest standards.
  • To optimise build quality, you must make use of the quality assurance documents and issue these to the client at the end of the project.
  • Take a collaborative approach towards project programmes.
  • Monitor project programmes and advise of any delays, potential delays or areas of risk.
  • Making sure all construction works are being carried out to drawings and specification.
  • Make sure budgets are understood, working to these, and liaising with the relevant Quantity Surveyor for the project.
  • Working closely with the commercial team to ensure the project is completed within time and budget.
  • Preparing monthly reports to show all the above.


What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in a similar role, ideally with experience with Cladding and Roofing
CSCS and SMSTS is essential
