Project Engineer (Coastal Risk Management)

Interim Coastal Project Engineer based in Dorset. Hybrid working available


We are working with a public sector body to recruit for an interim Project Engineer to manage their capital projects in Coastal Risk.

Your new company
Our client is responsible for the delivery and maintenance of flood defences and coastal protection along the Dorset coast. Their mission statement is to improve coastal access in a way that protects the natural beauty of the area.

Your new role
You will be responsible for managing a handful of key projects to the client, ranging from beach renourishment, to coastal erosion protection, to harbour wall reparations.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have a civil, coastal or environmental engineering qualification at HNC/HND/Degree level, as well as significant project management experience in a civil, coastal or infrastructural setting. Knowledge and experience of procurement and contract management will also be valuable. You will also need to be able to drive to sites when required.

What you'll get in return

• Up to £26.82/hour Umbrella (£200/day)
• Hybrid working arrangements (largely from home with occasional site and office visits)
• Assignment until March 2023, with possibility of extension to March 2024
