Your new company
Our client are a leading main contractor with a strong pipeline of exciting projects on the slate in Edinburgh. As their business grows they are seeking to appoint an ambitious construction professional to their planning team.


Your new role
As Construction Planner , reporting to the Planning Manager , you will be responsible for designing and managing complex construction plans for interesting and stimulating commercial building projects. You will be using your existing construction expertise to compose and administer construction plans which are fundamental to the success of these projects. As your role progresses you will get the opportunity to work on preconstruction and tender management and be exposed to the full project lifecycle. Working as a construction planner is a lucrative and more intellectually stimulating role within the industry and will appeal to more technical construction professionals from a broad construction background.


What you'll need to succeed
Our client are open to considering candidates with little formal construction planning experience but the ideal candidate will have deep practical construction expertise perhaps as a Site Engineer, Site Manager or Package Manager. The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in a related discipline ( Construction management etc) and have excellent administration skills. Perhaps you are working as a site manager or site engineer and while you love construction you would enjoy deploying your knowledge of construction in a different and less intense way. Ideally you will have been exposed to project planning concepts and software such as ASTA but not essential.
