Tunnel and Pump Supervisor - Mech and Elec Engineer

Your new role
Respond promptly to any network incidents as instructed.
Work in close cooperation Team members, Supply Chain and Client, contributing to the maintenance of a safe
and healthy working environment for both the Stakeholder asset users and work teams by ensuring compliance
with all relevant Health & Safety regulations
Contribute to the promotion of customer care by working closely with team members to ensure client and
Stakeholder asset users are dealt with in a polite and courteous manner.
Carry out audit reports on vehicles and plant to ensure all are maintained in good order.
Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with the general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the business Health and Safety Procedures standards.
Communication of tool box talks and Health and Safety alerts
Undertaking investigations, compiling detailed reports and implementing solutions
Contribute and co‐operate fully with Business health and safety consultation process and initiatives
Ensures risk assessments and method statements are produced and maintained to current work
practices/legislation and are effectively communicated
Ensure compliance with relevant Business sector scheme standards
Ensure effective and efficient planning and delivery of works
Site Supervision of internal business operational teams including supply chain partners operating on the network
Carry out on site work audits/reports on internal staff and supply chain, spending 70% site based vs 30% office
Ensure programming and delivery of cyclic maintenance, inspection, repair work to meet contract KPI
requirements while minimising road space occupancy and making best use of resources.
Ensure response to emergency situations within the parameters of the TaPS contract
Ensure personnel are adequately trained
Motivate staff, carry out regular recorded 1:2:1 meeting, monitor and evaluate performance using agreed review process.
What you'll need to succeed
SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme)
CSCS / CITB in health and safety
Have an appropriate knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, Traffic Management, automated monitoring/control
systems and construction works needed to ensure the smooth running of the Tunnels
Experience in the day to day operational procedures regarding all Maintenance and Reactive works, and have a proven excellence in leadership skills of employees
The ability to work under pressure and be capable of making on the spot decisions, but also having good
judgment skills
Ability to work using own initiative and motivate the wider operational team
Proficient communicator (written & verbal)
Able to monitor, motivate & develop staff
First aid
NRSWA qualification (desirable)
Full driving license required
Shift Pattern
Rolling 4 week shift pattern for supervisors and electricians - all shift patterns are six to six.
2. Week 1 - 42 hrs day shift (Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday)
3. Week 2 - 36 hrs day shift (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
4. Week 3 - 42 hrs night shift (Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday)
5. Week 4 - 36 hrs day shift (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
