Development Engineer based in Speke, Liverpool


Your new company
Your new is a 5-star housebuilder with 22 offices across the UK and almost 3,000 employees, building 11,000 units per annum. Your new office is located in Speke, Liverpool and has roughly 60 staff to it's name and builds 600 - 750 houses every year from as south as Crewe up to Lancaster. Your company takes the homes through each and every stage of build, from initial site assessment through to the construction phase.

Your new role
Your new role will see you joining your company as a Development Engineer, acting as a consultant throughout the whole procedure. You will conduct initial site assessments, validating the suitability of the grounds before procuring the engineering designs to a client. The detailed design is outsourced, so a major part of your role will be checking the design according to UK standards, and ensuring that they are accurately being translated onto site.

Fortnightly site visits and regular meeting with contractors will contribute to an overall project management-like role. On average you role will be 60% office based and 40% site based, creating a hugely varied work schedule.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed you will need a minimum of 3 years' industry experience, ideally as a development engineer, however experience on either client/contractor side may be sufficient. You will need to be able to understand the detailed design of low-rise residential buildings from a consultative perspective and strong verbal communication skills will be essential for ensuring your new company's projects run smoothly.

What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a highly competitive salary ranging from £35,000 up £65,000, with a car allowance at the higher end of the bracket. An annual bonus is also available, based on your performance. Your working week is also 35 hours long and flexible around a core set of hours. One day per-week working from home is also company policy and encouraged.
