We are looking for a Major Project Delivery Manager to develop and implement strategic and operational plans to meet political and business requirements and strategic outcomes. Primarily supporting and enhancing the Council’s estate, to realise its strategic regeneration and property-related goals, with direct oversight of all significant capital works (over £250k).

We are looking for someone with proven experience in managing large, complex construction related capital programmes (min. 10 years relevant experience in a project delivery environment within the construction industry, and 3 years senior project manager). You will be an excellent manager of people and resources with a track record of delivering complex projects and programmes. You will have an in depth understanding and experience of the local authority construction environment, including in relation to initiating and managing construction contracts, finance, governance, and the policy, regulatory, financial and procurement framework which underpins a Council’s construction programmes (including OJEU and Frameworks). You will have a proven track record of managing revenue and capital budgets (including maintenance of financial records /systems, budget allocations, fee recharges, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
