Your new company

Based in West London this public sector organisation is currently looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager with extensive Fire Risk Management experience to join their existing team. The team manages projects ranging from small works to multi-million pound refurbishments primarily to their housing stock. Offices are based close to local bus and train stations making this a very commutable location.

Your new role

As the Fire Safety Senior Project Manager it will be your responsibility to manage housing projects relating to refurbishment, reinvestment and new build schemes ensuring all works comply with latest Fire Safety regulations. The types of properties will include medium to large housing estates dealing with both low and high rise tower blocks. You will manage multiple work streams; work with tenant management organisations and in some cases councillors and other stakeholders. The value of projects could range from £500k to multi-million pound refurbishments.

What you'll need to succeed

It is essential that you are a fully qualified surveyor, either chartered or have a building related degree with extensive knowledge of the Fire Safety Act 2021 and Housing Act 2004.You will need to demonstrate your experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders, contractors, consultants etc. You will need to demonstrate your skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Fire risk assessments by others, including destructive testing, to Housing properties (both communal and within properties), collating and logging results and arranging and managing the resultant actions.
  • Collating and coordinating fire management activities from a variety of sources
  • Advising Council officers and residents on the fire safety of buildings, both general and specific
  • Responding to queries from residents and others on matters relating to fire safety

RICS/CIOB qualification or equivalent is essential.
Experience in a social housing buildings environment is also desirable.
