Serco - Darent Valley Hospital

Serco delivers all Hard FM services and lifecycle project activity through our PFI contract at Darent Valley Hospital. We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to deliver projects on-site, ensuring contractors are inducted to site, works are appropriately planned and handed over to site operations and facilitating access and closure of works.

You will have overall accountability of managing single, large, or multiple smaller initiatives and projects for clients, the Trust or Serco with varying degrees of complexity.  It is imperative you possess project management skills and facilities management experience incorporating a working knowledge of buildings services projects with a contractor.  You will also be accountable for the budget and financial processes relating to your projects.

Your analytical thinking, exceptional organisation and communication skills will ensure you can deliver on accountabilities such as:

  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and hand-over management activities. 
  • Manage project scope and changes with a documented approval change management/variation process.
  • Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration or litigation, as needed
  • Define the Statement of Work and Specifications for the requested goods and services.  Support formal/informal schedules to manage the engagement contract.
  • Review and comment on any matters that may arise on a day to day basis that could affect the operation of DVH. Be the point of escalation for departments in case of issues and report this to the Trust for resolution.
  • Budget and financial control.

What you'll need to do the role

A Degree / Diploma or Building Services Engineering HNC / HND or higher.

Project Management experience is a must, ideally within the Health FM environment.  Knowledge and understanding of PFI contracts would be beneficial, as would an understanding of HTM and HBN requirements.
