Legal Disrepair Surveyor
Your new company
Our client is a Local Authority based in Hertfordshire, keen to meet with experienced Legal Disrepair Surveyors.
Your new role
Duties will include:
- Work within a Repairs team
- Deal with increasing Disrepair caseload (at the moment approx. 30 cases)
- Carry out detailed surveys
- Compile detailed reports
- Specify works as required as part of new 'Fit for human habitation act 2018
- Complete 'Scott's reports' as required
- Issue works to DLO/Contractors as necessary
- Supervise works and carry out inspections
- Post inspect/sign off completed works
- Liaise with Stevenage Borough Council 'in house' Lawyer/s
- Act as expert witness and provide evidence as required
- Initially will be 5 days in office working, based at Daneshill offices (this may change depending how role develops)
- Working with 'Northgate' housing management system re: scrutinising repairs histories and raising orders to DLO/Contractors
- May involve supervision of a Caretaking operative
- Report to the Repairs Manager
What you'll need to succeed
Essential skills/qualifications:
- Experience of working with housing providers
- Minimum 5 years post qualification experience
- Relevant technical qualification e.g. MRICS (Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) or MCIOB (Member of the Chartered Institute of Building)
