A key opportunity for an experienced Operations Director has arisen within this highly respected quality focused refurbishment main contractor. The business started its journey in 2007 successfully operating across commercial , healthcare , heritage & conservation , education sectors.
Project values range from £1m -£10m in value delivered across various forms of contract and procurement routes.
Built on a reputation for staff investment and quality of service they continue to go from strength to strength ,today enjoy an annual turnover of circa £30m.
Due to the pending retirement of their industry renowned operation director they looking to identify a talented construction director with extensive expertise and experience of Londons refurbishment market place.
Working closely with the commercial director and reporting to the board your remit will be to provide leadership, strategic direction and a vision for the business so that it achieves its goal of being a construction company with a reputation for professionalism, quality of product/service and competitiveness. To also manage, develop and motivate a multi-disciplinary team to work collaboratively and innovatively so they can achieve their goals, career aspirations all in line with the business goals.
Prepare, in conjunction with your fellow operational Director’s, a business plan for approval of the Main shareholders.
Delivery, with your fellow Director’s, the operational strategic and administrative goals as set out in the business plan.
Agree with your fellow operational Director’s the projects wishes to tender for giving due regard to project viability and risk.
Where necessary obtain approval from the board and/or Shareholders before committing to undertake projects.
Network and build strong relationships with all key agents, consultants and stakeholders so that the business promotes itself and takes advantage of opportunities that may arise.
Ensure the correct level and type of communication to operational board members so they are kept up to date on project progress.
Assist with the development and delivery of an innovative and focussed public relations and marketing strategy so as to support the achievement of vision and strategy.
Represent the business externally in a broad range of events and activities, building presence and reputation in the market.
Ensure the business has the appropriate business processes, people and skills to deliver its vision and strategy.
Assist in the development of staff members so they can deliver the business goals, achieve their own personal goals and career aspirations and grow with the business.
Bring clear innovative and structured thinking with a solution orientated approach to the business. Foster entrepreneurial, innovative collaborative and commercial culture so that the business vision can be achieved.
Deliver strong returns and significant shareholder value. Comply fully with all statutory regulations relating to the administration and operation of the business.
Ensure that all staff members are fully aware of and comply with all Health and Safety obligations related to their place of work and buildings or construction sites within which they are working on behalf of the business Maintenance of the highest standards of Health and Safety should be a high regard at all times.
Ensure all operational manuals and policies are reviewed and updated annually and are compliant with latest statutory regulations.
Manage the Tender interview process, arranging and managing the team and support information, to provide the business with the optimum chance of success.
Deliver all construction projects collaboratively with internal and external customers on time and within budget, to the required standard, ensuring the business receives its full entitlements.
Solution are now looking to speak with senior MCIOB or Bsc (Hons) individuals with well-rounded management and procurement skills who can demonstrate a strong , consistent career profile gained with Top 30 main contractors within the same capacity across a variety of sectors who can lead successfully from the front whilst taking a active role assisting in the direction and development of the business.
