Your new company
Your new company is a £15 million business that design, manufacture and install the steel for their clients across the UK in a wide range of sectors including industrial, commercial, residential, education and more. They have 70 staff overall with 5 in the design office producing drawings and detailed design for the steel engineers in the factory and on site. Dynamic and family owned, your new company is a vibrant and warm workplace with phenomenal staff retention.
Your new role
Your new role will see you joining the company as a Tekla Draughtsman, producing the relevant drawings and detailing for your engineers. 3 technicians, an engineer and drawings manager will sit alongside you and make up the team you will be joining. There are typically 3/4 projects running adjacently, a current project example being a modern apartment block in Manchester City Centre valued at £5.8m,though typical projects sit at around the £600,000 mark.
The role is open to a variety of experiences ranging from a graduate up to an advanced technician with years of experience under their belt.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed you will need Tekla Structures and AutoCAD experience, although if joining as a graduate/less experienced staff member, this isn't as essential. Training and daily assistance will help you to learn the latest detailing software packages. Entering the business at the higher level with for example 8 years' experience, it is expected that you can autonomously and independently carry project detailing through their fully life cycle without significant external input.
What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a highly competitive salary in line with your previous experience up to around £45,000. At junior and graduate level you should will receive hands-on training and guidance through the early years of your career. There is a 5% of annual salary bonus in place that you will receive yearly on top of loyalty pay rises after 2,5 and 10 years of staying with your new company. Although currently there is no official hybrid working policy, your new company is enthusiastic to become flexible and adapt where needed to facilitate new staff.
