Temporary Accommodation Support Officer job, Birmingham - Highgate, (Housing Service)


Your new company

You will be working as a TA Support Officer for Birmingham City Council, at Magnolia House Homeless Centre, which is an assisted living facility located in Highgate. The purpose of this role is to deliver support to tenants and enable them to sustain their homeless centre tenancy to then be able to move onto a suitable and secured accommodation.

Your new role

One of the most important responsibilities of your role as a TA Support Officer, will be to ensure the safety of all residents at the centre. Typical daily duties will include delivering floating tenancy support and ensure customers promptly access support identified in their Personal Housing and TA Move On plans. Make referrals to support agencies and build confidence in customers to effectively manage their expenditure and maximise their income and independence. Deliver a high-quality tenancy support service to homeless households in TA and effectively respond to the changing needs of customers and legislation.

What you will need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need to be comfortable around people with a desire to help and assist others; especially those who are vulnerable. You must have experience within customer service, ideally in a frontline service role within a housing or homelessness centre. You will also need to be well-versed in the relevant Housing Legislation, as well as having knowledge regarding Tenant & Landlord legislation. If you are passionate and are committed to preventing homelessness, then this is a perfect role for you. This post requires a clear Enhanced DBS, which Hays will process free of charge if you are not currently on the DBS update process
