Contract Works Officer

Works Supervisor/Officer job, temp, Birmingham. Council housing team. Manage residential capital works.

Your new role
The post holder will play an integral part in overseeing the delivery of capital works, remedial works, voids refurbishments etc. on council housing stock to really improve the lives of the councils tenants. This role will see the post holder being responsible for numerous aspects including managing contractors on site, ensuring works are completed to required standards, regularly assessing the needs of housing tenants to determine objectives, preparation and presenting of progress reports, budget monitoring, ensuring building regulations and CDM are satisfied, etc.

What you'll need to succeed
The post holder will have the following:

• Ability to diagnose building faults and prepare schedules of works
• Experience managing contractor operatives
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• A relevant building qualification to property repair and maintenance (I.E. NVQ)
