Health and Safety Manager

An established Steelworks manufacturer working predominantly with civil and structural projects across the UK.

Your new role
Carrying out Safety, Health & Environmental audits including partnering with the Quality team to develop integrations of the management systems with ISO 9001. Ensure Risk Assessments are in place, reviewed and necessary control measures are implemented and followed up with the provision and distribution of safe working procedures.
Develop the Group's carbon reduction strategy in line with net zero objectives. Undertake, communicate, and manage workplace health & safety and environmental inspections both departments, workshop in line with the HSE management systems. Review subcontractors RAMS for construction site work and manage maintenance contractors visits to our workshop and office areas.
Manage the Group requirement for mandatory and localised training. Carrying out accident investigations and ensure root cause is identified and corrective action put in place to prevent re-occurrence. Manage H&S Welfare e.g., noise surveys, workplace environmental monitoring, health surveillance.
Attend relevant meetings related o he HSE management of the Group, both internal and external. Participating in the BSA health & Safety committee and supporting tender and requalification documents and audits.

Strong team player who actively participates in wider team
Independent and self-driven with the ability to manage own workload and identify priorities.
Confident ability to use Microsoft word and excel.
