Health & Safety Advisor - Permanent - £31,500 + car allowance - Preston with wfh options

I am currently working with an organisation based in Preston who are a privately owned company and provide services to their users across circa 60 sites. Offering a range of services, this organisation has successfully grown over the last 8 years and pride themselves on providing solutions to their local authority partners. Your new role
The main purpose of your role is to act as the standalone, Competent Person to ensure the company is adhering to all Health & Safety legislation whilst monitoring the safety management systems, policies and procedures. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • To lead and advise managers and employees on compliance and Health & Safety requirements
  • Carry out planned and ad-hoc inspections, audits and visits
  • Monitor and review both new and upcoming Health & Safety legislation
  • Proactively investigate and respond accordingly to accidents, incidents and near misses
  • Promote a positive Health & Safety culture throughout the organisation
  • Identify training and development needs and arrange and deliver relevant training
  • Support the Estates and Facilities Management team with fire risk assessment


What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you must have a minimum of 12 months experience in Health & Safety Advisor position and hold NEBOSH. You will also have experience of implementing action plans to ensure effective H&S management, a comprehensive knowledge of H&S legislation and have excellent communication skills. This role will also require you to undertake a DBS and be flexible to travel to sites across the UK, mainly the North West but there will occasionally be overnight stays required in sites further afield, although this will not be on a frequent basis.

What you'll get in return
This is a full time, permanent position of 37 hours per week which can be worked within a flexible working arrangement in line with business requirements. Salary of up to £31,500 plus car allowance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension scheme and cashback healthcare plan. Work from home options are also available as long as you are committed to attending Head Office when required.
